Richard Davies, proprietor and partner with Powis Estates of Castle Tea Room & The 1086 Restaurant, has 16 years experience in the catering trade. Richard trained in patisserie and confectionery at the Birmingham College of Food, working in 5 star hotels, quality restaurants and bars.
A great opportunity arose with Powis Estates to create and run Castle Tea Room and The 1086 Restaurant as a joint venture. Twelve months of planning was needed to source high quality fixtures and fittings as well as local suppliers of quality food and drink.
My Vision
Castle Tea Room & The 1086 Restaurant aim to provide the highest quality of traditional English food and drinks.
Wherever possible sourcing all our products and ingredients locally, making the most of seasonal market produce. Herbs and flowers to be supplied by our own garden. Home-made food and professional warm welcoming service of the highest standard are of the upmost importance to me.
With unrivaled views of the castle and its tranquil atmosphere a truly unique dining experience is assured.
